Recap | Ottawa West and Whitewater winners on Thursday night

Ottawa, Ontario – The Ottawa West Golden Knights clinch first place in the Martin Division with a win over Alexandria and Whitewater scores seven goals against Athens in a 7-3 win.

Ottawa West 7, Alexandria 5

The Golden Knights extend their winning streak to three games and are one or two wins away from clinching first place in the league. Noah Haymes tallies 2G / 2A while Kearns and J. Haymes each had 1G / 2A. N. Haymes extends his point streak to 11 games and J. Haymes had his point streak go to ten games.

Troccoli-Roik added two assists. Power, Pozzebon and Donnelly each tallied 1G / 1A in Alexandria’s fifth straight loss. Jacob Lefebvre extends his point streak to two games with 1G / 2A. Shots were 54-33 for Ottawa West.

Whitewater 7, Athens 3

The Kings were able to bounce back with a dominating performance against Athens. Tyler Cutts (U18 Pembroke) scores his first career CCHL2 hat trick in his fifth game as a call up. Duggan, Cuddy and Dellaire got on the score sheet by collecting 1G / 1A. Whitewater goes to 2-1 in February.

Darian McTavish makes 25 saves for his first win since coming down to Whitewater. Olmstead, Hudson and Johnston had goals for Athens in the loss. Shots were 41-28 for Whitewater.
