RELEASE | CCM February Performers of the Month

Ottawa, Ontario – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League is proud to announce it’s CCM Hockey February Performers of the Month. Athens Aeros forward Andrew Sprague takes home Forward of the Month, Richmond Royals Defenseman Shane Sullivan collects Defenseman of the Month, Arnprior Packers goaltender Jett Miller gets Goalie of the Month and Casselman Vikings goaltender Mael Gendron is awarded Rookie of the Month.

FOTM: ’02 Andrew Sprague (Athens Aeros)

Sprague, 20, collected six goals and seven assists in fives during the final month of the season. The Kingston, Ontario native ended his final season with 33 goals, 52 assists and 85 points in 39 games played. He also had two assists in the EOJHL all star game back in January having two assists. Sprague collected a hat trick on February 4th against Whitewater, had five points against Brockville on the road with 2G / 3A and two points in his final game of the year against Smiths Falls. During his time with Athens, Sprague had 65 goals, 93 assists, 159 points in 80 games.

DOTM: ’02 Shane Sullivan (Richmond Royals)

Sullivan, 20, had two goals, six assists in four games played in February. The Stittsville, Ontario native three assists against OJC on February 5th, one point on February 9th and two goals and two assists on February 15th against Ottawa West. He was rolling on a four game point streak between January 22nd to February 15th. He ends the year with four goals, 31 assists and 35 points in 32 games. During his EOJHL (CCHL2) career, he played in 85 regular season games and had 10 goals, 49 assists and 59 points.

GOTM: ’02 Jett Miller (Arnrpior Packers)

Miller, 20, was terrific in between the pipes once more for Arnprior as he went 3-0 in four games played, had a 2.31 GAA / .922 SV%. His best performance came against the Perth Blue Wings on February 18th where he made 46 saves on 47 shots in a 6-1 win. His other performance was against Brockville with 23 saves in an OT win and 23 saves against Athens. The Greely, Ontario native went 19-3 in 24 games played, to go along with 3 shutouts, 2.14 GAA (3rd in league) and .933 SV% (3rd in.

ROTM: ’05 Mael Gendron (Casselman Vikings)

Gendron, 18, went 3-0 in four games played, 1.32 GAA / .950 SV%. The Rockland, Ontario native had his three wins against Alexandria, Char-Lan and the Ottawa Jr. Canadians. He made 35 saves against Alexandria on February 4th and back-to-back 24 save performances on February 9th against Char-Lan and on February 16th against Ottawa. Gendron recently made his Rockland Nationals debut on February 24th in the third period in the CCHL against the Jr. Senators. He went 17-5-1 in 27 games play, a 2.54 GAA / .915 SV% during his first season with Casselman.
