Ottawa, Ontario – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League is proud to announce that Richmond Royals Head Coach Shawn Couturier has been named 2022-23 Coach of the Year.

Couturier, has turned around this team from last season to this year. He started become the Head Coach when the Stittsville Rams/Royals were in existence during the 2015-16 season. Couturier moved the Stittsville team from the Goulbourn Recreation Complex to the Richmond Memorial Centre in the 2016-17 season and had only one playoff experience which is in 2017 when Richmond made it to the finals.

Ever since the 2017 playoffs, Richmond didn’t make the playoffs for four consecutive seasons.

The Richmond Royals finished in first place in the Martin Division and Third in the league. Shawn Couturier had 29 wins throughout the 42 games throughout the season. Congratulations Shawn on this accomplishment.
