RELEASE | Week 3 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The EOJHL is proud to announced it’s week 3 stars of the week. The First star goes to Arnprior Packers forward Neil Duncan, second star is Embrun Panthers defenseman Connor MacDonald and third star is Carleton Place Jr. Canadians goaltender Jackson Pundyk. Honorable Mention goes to Richmond Royals defenseman Curran Gilmour.

First Star: F Neil Duncan, Arnprior Packers (6 G / 2 A)

Duncan, 19, collects six goals and two assists in three games with Arnprior this week. He was on for eight of the nine goals that Arnprior had in their three games. Although Arnprior went 1-2 on the week, the Stittsville, Ontario native is in his final season in the EOJHL and is off to a terrific start. He currently has a seven game point streak and has nine goals and five assists. His best game was on October 15th against Westport where he recorded his second career EOJHL hat trick and had four points in a 5-2 win. His last hat trick came against the Perth Blue Wings on October 27th 2018. Duncan finished the week with 1G/1A against Carleton Place on Oct 17th and then tallied two goals on Sunday night against Valley.

Second Star: D Connor MacDonald, Embrun Panthers (2 G / 2 A)

MacDonald, 17, tallied two goals and two assists in two games this week for Embrun in both wins. It all started off on Oct 15th where he collected two goals for three points in a 5-0 win over the Ottawa Jr. Canadians. He would end the week by only collecting one assist in a 4-2 win over Char-Lan. The Williamstown, Ontario native is currently on a four game point streak and has 2G/4A in his first six career EOJHL games with the Panthers.

Third Star: G Jackson Pundyk, Carleton Place Jr. Canadians (2 wins, 1.50 GAA / .964 SV%)

Pundyk, 17, recorded two wins, to go along with a 1.50 GAA / .964 SV% this week. The Kanata, Ontario native only allowed three goals on 64 shots. It’s a total of 61 saves overall throughout his two games. His best performance came against the Arnprior Packers and made 41 saves on 43 shots in just his second career EOJHL start. He ended the week by saving 20 on 21 shots against Whitewater. Pundyk has won three of the four games for Carleton Place on the road.

Honorable Mention: D Curran Gilmour, Richmond Royals (1 G / 2 A) 

Gilmour, 19, collects one goals and two assist in the only game against the Winchester Hawks on Sunday afternoon (Oct 17th). He was solid throughout the 60 minutes in all three zones of the ice. Gilmour is in his third full season in the EOJHL. He started his career in the 2018-19 season with the Athens Aeros and after his one season with them, Gilmour has played with the Richmond Royals since the 2019-20 season. In six games, Gilmour has tallied two goals and two assists on defense to start the season.
