RELEASE | Week 5 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey league is proud to announce its Week 5 Stars of the Week. The first star is awarded to Perth Blue Wings forward Lleyton McLean, second star goes to Richmond Royals goaltender Gabe Arrigo, and third star goes to Brockville Tikis defenseman Tyson Carr.

First Star: ’04 Lleyton McLean, Perth Blue Wings (4G / 7A)

McLean, 18, is named the first star after collecting four goals and seven assists for eleven points. He picked up his first EOJHL hat trick in a seven point game against Whitewater. The next night, McLean added one goal and three assists in a win over Renfrew. In both games, Perth collected 22 goals during the week. The Rideau Ferry, Ontario is off to a terrific start of the season as he had five goals, twelve assists and seventeen points in eight games. McLean spent last season in the CCHL with the Smiths Falls Bears.

Second Star: ’02 Gabe Arrigo, Richmond Royals (2 wins, 1 shutout, 1.00 GAA / .972 SV%)

Arrigo, 20, had an impressive two games over Alexandria and OJC. The Kanata, Ontario is in his second and final season in the EOJHL and its with the Richmond Royals. He spent time with the Perth Blue Wings and then got traded to Richmond. Arrigo’s first shutout this season came against Alexandria where he made 37 saves in a 5-0 win over Alexandria. He would continue to stay hot in the net by making 32 saves in an 8-2 win over OJC. Arrigo is 7-2 in nine games with one shutout, has a 3.70 GAA / .897 SV%.

Third Star: ’04 Tyson Carr, Brockville Tikis (4A)

Carr, 18, collected four assists in two games against the Whitewater Kings. On October 26th, he collected three assists in a 8-2 win over Whitewater, and then had one assist on October 29th in a 3-2 win. He is on a four game point streak with seven assists. The Bancroft, Ontario is off to a great start on the back end by collecting two goals, nine assists and eleven points in 10 games. He spent time with the U18 Quine Red Devils last year.
