RELEASE | Week 8 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League is proud to announced it’s Week 8 Stars of the week. First star goes to Embrun Panther defenseman Connor MacDonald, second star goes to Westport Rideaus forward Connor Craig, third star is Perth Blue Wings forward Ben Anderson. Honorable Mention goes Dante De Sanctis of the Alexandria Glens.

First Star: D Connor MacDonald, Embrun Panthers (6A)

MacDonald, 17, collected six assists in two games. The Williamstown, Ontario collected two assists against Winchester on November 19th and four assists against Alexandria on November 20th. He currently has a 11 game point streak and has four goals, to go along with 17 assists this season. MacDonald is second among rookies in points and 1st in assists. He also leads all defenseman in points with 21.

Second Star: F Connor Craig, Westport Rideaus (4G)

Craig, 17, had an amazing week by scoring four goals in two games. The Smiths Falls, Ontario native collect two goals on November 19th against Arnprior and November 21st against Whitewater. He is on a three game point streak and has 10 goals and 18 points in 14 games this season. Craig also snapped his nine game goalless drought on Nov 19th.

Third Star: F Ben Anderson, Perth Blue Wings (6A)

Anderson, 19, tallied six assists in two games. The Ottawa, Ontario had two assists against Valley on November 19th and four assists on November 21st against Brockville in a shutout win. He has 17 points in twelve games and is riding a eight game point streak. The only times Anderson didn’t get a single point was on October 2nd and October 9th. Last season, he spent time with the Arnprior Packers in the 2020-21 developmental scrimmage.

Honorable Mention: F Dante De Sanctis, Alexandria Glens (3G)

De Sanctis, 18, collected his first career EOJHL hat trick on November 21st against Winchester and was able to break his 10 game pointless drought. The Saint-Lazare, Quebec native has five goals and one assist in 16 games throughout his first full EOJHL season with the Alexandria Glens.
