Ottawa, ON – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is proud to announce that Rob Gignac, General Manager of the Ottawa Junior Canadians, has been honored with the prestigious 2024-25 EOJHL General Manager of the Year award. This recognition highlights Gignac’s exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and commitment to building a successful, competitive team that has excelled both on and off the ice.
Under Gignac’s leadership, the Ottawa Junior Canadians finished the regular season with an impressive record of 31-12-3-2, earning them a second-place finish in the highly competitive Martin Division. Gignac’s ability to blend experienced veterans with promising young talent has proven to be a winning formula. This carefully constructed roster has not only dominated throughout the regular season but has also set the stage for an exciting playoffs. Several players under his guidance have shown significant development and are expected to take their talents to the next level in the near future.
The Junior Canadians are now poised to face off against their cross-city rivals, the Ottawa West Golden Knights, in the first round of the playoffs beginning next Tuesday. The match-up promises to be a thrilling series as both teams vie for a spot in the next stage of the championship hunt.
