Saturday Recap | Five Games

Ottawa, ON – There were five games on a busy Saturday night as the teams try to get in position for a playoff spot.

F | Westport 2, Renfrew 1

Blake Kettyle tallies 1 G / 1 A to extend his goal streak to five games and point streak to 11 games. Alex Snow would pick up the GWG to give the Rideaus their fifth consecutive win. They’ve outscored the oppositions 27-11 during their winning streak.

Artyom Shiman had the only goal in the Timberwolves loss. It snaps Renfrew’s three game winning streak. Alex Zoutis also made 32 saves in the win.

F | Char-Lan 3, Casselman 1

Brennan Markell collects 1 G / 1 A to extend his point-streak to two games. Taran Fiacco got the GWG in the second period and Testani sealed the deal with the empty net goal. With the Rebels win, they’ve eliminated the Embrun Panthers from playoff contention. The Rebels can clinch a playoff spot with a win and a Winchester loss next week.

Joel Hunt scores the only goal in the Vikings loss. He has four goals and two assists during his three game point-streak. They’ve now lost three of their last four games. It’s only their 8th regulation loss of the season.

F | Alexandria 3, Arnprior 2

Mathieu Parent scores the game-winning-goal on the power-play with 45 seconds left in regulation to give the Glens a huge win while also snapping their three game losing-streak. Lochlan MacDonald and Tyler Villeneuve each had 1 G / 1 A.

Neil Duncan also collects 1 G / 1 A in the Packers loss. They are now 0-5-2 in their last seven games. The Glens outshot Arnprior 47-24.

F | Carleton Place 4, Whitewater 1

Stef Hawkins scores two goals while Spencer Marshall had 1 G / 1 A including the game-winning-goal. CP U18 call up Sean Ireland scores his first CCHL2 goal. He has 1 G / 1 A in his two games with the Junior B club. The Canadians have won two of their last three games.

Jake Pilon had the only goal in the Kings loss. Whitewater has snapped their three game losing streak.

F/OT | Brockville 5, Athens 4

The Tikis comeback down 3-0 to score three consecutive goals on a five minute power-play before the end of the second period. Hunter Shipclark would score the OT winner. Jackson Wuth collects 1 G / 2 A while Glazer registers 1 G /1 A. They’ve now won two of their last three games.

Matt Berry had two goals in a three-point night. Servage and Gilmour tallied the other goals in the Aeros loss. They are 2-6-1 since the break.
