Ottawa, Ontario – Four games were on tap on an entertaining Saturday night. It featured three Richardson division matchups with Westport vs Carleton Place, Brockville vs Whitewater and Valley vs Athens. The only matchup in the Martin Division was Ottawa vs Char-Lan.
Ottawa 6, Char-Lan 2
The Ottawa Jr. Canadians continue to stay hot. They pick up their 8th win this season. Dobson, Yorke and Papineau each tally 1G/1A while Contois, Cote and Kay each scored once for OJC. Connor Baillie made 32 saves in the win. Ottawa went 1-for-5 on the power play and have won two consecutive games. Noel de Kemp has his first two assists of the season to extend his point streak to two games.
Char-Lan snaps their two game winning streak. Baron and Robertson both tally one goal. The Rebels outshout OJC 34-28.
Whitewater 8, Brockville 3
After a tough loss to Westport last week, Whitewater scores eight goals in a game for the second time this season. Reid Greer collects 2G/3A for five points and Ryan Ladouceur had 2G/2A. Hoffman, Tallon, Jones and Reinisch were the other goal scorers for Whitewater. Hawthorne added two assists. The Kings went 2-for-5 on the man advantage while Wilson made 25 saves in the win.
Busseau extended his goal streak to two games by scoring twice in the loss. Brockville went 1-for-3 on the power play. Shots were 39-28 for Whitewater.
Valley 6, Athens 5
Athens tried to pull a huge comeback but Valley was able to hang on for the victory. Andrew Dawe collected his first EOJHL hat trick while Matt Goudreault had 1G/2A for three points. The other goal scorers were Kuehl and Schulist. The Timberwolves were able to snap their losing streak at two games. Tyson Johnston made 37 saves in the win. Valley went 1-for-3 on the power play.
Rhett Palmer scores twice while Ty Nicholson collects 1G/2A in the Athens loss. Athens went 2-for-3 on the power play. They outshot Valley 42-28. They are 2-2 in their last four games.
Carleton Place 4, Westport 2
Before Carleton Place vs Westport game happened, there was a moment of silence for the loss of Grady Logue’s grandfather, who passed away on November 20th.
Hunter Neil scores twice while McGlade and Ireland each tallied one goal. Mitchell made 31 saves. Carleton Place improves to 15-3-1 and sits first in the Richardson Divison. The Canadians outshot Westport 36-33.
MacMillan and Barbeau each had one goal in the Westport loss. Carleton Place is 9-1 in their last 10 games while Westport’s record goes to 7-9 this season.
