Saturday Recap | Four Games

Ottawa, Ontario – Ottawa West hosted Casselman and Alexandria took on Char-Lan in the Martin Division. In the Richardson Division, Valley played against Carleton Place and Westport was on the road against Whitewater as their was four games on Saturday February 5th.

Ottawa West 8, Casselman 1

Every game that these teams play each other, it was either close or Casselman would dominate. It was the opposite in this game. The Golden Knights would go 7-for-10 on the power play. Jack Haymes sets a career high with four goals in a game and tallied five points. Stef Mellios would get the monkey off his back by scoring his first goal this season. Max Bush collected two goals for a three-point night.

Graham, Watson and Kearns would also collect three points. Jordan Provost made 19 saves. Ottawa West extends their winning streak to two games. Jacob Dyer would score Casselman’s only goal in the loss. Shots were 25-20 for Ottawa West.

Carleton Place 7, Valley 4

Carleton Place wins their second consecutive game in back to back nights. Sam Ryan and Alex McGlade each collect 1G/1A for two points. Pollock, Swyer, Boyce, Brooks and Inoue all scored for CP. Kade Stewart made 13 saves in his debut. The Canadians went 1-for-4 on the power play.

Bowers and Gaudrault each had 1G/1A in the loss. Valley went 2-for-6 on the power play. Shots were 35-17 for Carleton Place.

Westport 4, Whitewater 3 (SO)

The Westport Rideaus wins in a shootout for the second consecutive game. Denver Craig (1A) would score the shootout winner. Noah Weatherall, who is in his second game this season,  collects his first goal since December 19th 2019. Connor Craig and Jack Chiarello would each collect one goal. Nathaniel Boyes was terrific by making 28 saves. Westport went 1-for-5 on the power play.

Tallon, Holmes and Jones were the goal scorers in the Whitewater loss. The Kings outshot Westport 31-23 and were 1-for-3 on the power play.

Alexandria 4, Char-Lan 3 (SO)

Alexandria collects their second consecutive game in back to back days. Nicholas Bell, Nicolas Ouellette and Ben Kay were the goal scorers. Kay had two points and the shootout winner. Matthew Catton made 19 saves for his fifth victory this season. Both teams had two power play goals.

Owen Carter and Cameron Debellefeuille each tally their first goals this season and Graham Robertson scores his second goal in the loss. Shots were 31-22 for Alexandria.
