Saturday Recap | Rideaus’ goalie Alex Zoutis scores, Glens comeback

Westport's Alex Zoutis becomes first goalie to score in years.

Ottawa, ON – Two games were in action on a quiet Saturday night in the CCHL2 after Embrun vs. Whitewater and Renfrew vs. Athens games got postponed due to weather conditions.

Alexandria 4, Char-Lan 3

The Glens completed the comeback in the final two-minutes of the game. Dylan Stacey scored the tying goal and the GWG. Joshua Desjardins also tallied his first Tier 2 goal and ended the night with 1G / 1A.

The best player for Char-Lan was Brennan Markell who not only extended his point streak three games, but he collected his first Hat-Trick of the season. Char-Lan out-shot Alexandria 33-30.

Westport 8, Carleton Place 6

The Rideaus’ found themselves down 6-3 going to the third period. They scored five unanswered goals in the final frame to secure the victory. Westport has points in their last four games. Nicholson scores a Hat-Trick while Alex Zoutis became the first CCHL Tier 2 goalie to score a goal in it’s history after Brandon Lowry and Dominic Plaschy scored when it was the EOJHL.

Hugh Mchugh caps off a four-point night by scoring the GWG.

Hawkins, Lnoue, Code, Lister, Lightfoot and Nicoll had goals for Carleton Place while Ethan Woolsey had three helpers. Carleton Place has now lost two straight games.
