Ottawa, ON – It was a quiet Saturday in the CCHL2 as there were three games. Char-Lan took on Arnprior, Whitewater looked to get a key win against Renfrew and Carleton Place hosted Athens.

F | Carleton Place 7, Athens 1

Kyle Lightfoot leads the way with 2 G / 2 A while Oliver Carriere (1 G / 2 A) and Brendan Hill (2 G / 1 A) each had three-point nights. Mills, Holmes and Lister each added two assists. The Canadians have won three consecutive games.

Max Birnie got the only goal for Athens. The Aeros are now 0-2-1 in their last three games. Carleton place is now one point behind Brockville for 3rd place, two points behind Westport for second and three points behind Perth for 1st place in the Richardson Division.

F | Whitewater 7, Renfrew 4

Tommy Cahill (1 G / 2 A) and Quinn Vanhoof (2 G / 1 A) each tallied three points while Jared Campitelli had 1 G / 1 A. It breaks the Kings three game losing streak but only get their second win in February.

Noah Maika scores twice and Andrew McIntyre collects 1 G / 1 A in the loss. Renfrew’s next contest goes February 22nd against Arnprior in their most important game of the season. If Renfrew Wins in regulation, they’ll clinch the fifth and final playoff spot.

Julien Cholette makes 24 saves for his first career CCHL2 shutout. Jacob Cook picked up the game winning goal and Liam MacDonald added an insurance goal on the power play. The Rebels have won three straight games and still have a chance to get home ice advantage for the Wild Card Series. They’ll need to win their remaining four games and a Glens loss in able to get it.

The Packers get shutout for the fifth time this season. Cameron Scott made 24 saves in the loss. The Arnprior Packers are now facing elimination on February 22nd in a win or go home game against Renfrew. A win in regulation can keep them alive and trail Renfrew by one point.
