September 21/25 | Casselman Shuts Out Richmond, Winchester Grabs OT Victory, Ottawa West Powers Past Timberwolves

 

Ottawa, ON – EOJHL action continued Sunday with three matchups on the schedule as Casselman visited Richmond, Winchester traveled to Athens, and Ottawa West took on Renfrew.

Casselman 4 – Richmond 0

The Casselman Vikings earned their first win of the season in convincing fashion, blanking Richmond 4-0 on the road.

Mathieu Cloutier scored twice, including a shorthanded marker, while Alexis Lafrance and Joshua Marcos added singles to pace the offense.

In goal, Dominic Amodeo was perfect, stopping all 19 shots he faced for the shutout. Sam Nolan was busy for Richmond, turning aside 46 of 50 shots in the loss.

Winchester 2 – Athens 1 (OT)

The Winchester Hawks pulled off a hard-fought 2-1 overtime win in Athens.

Cameron Kelly opened the scoring for the Aeros in the first, but Asher Goldfarb drew the Hawks level early in the third. That set the stage for overtime, where Daniel McDowell buried the game-winner just 1:14 into the extra frame.

Jacob Turpin was outstanding in the Winchester crease, making 54 saves to secure the victory. Carson Garrod turned aside 38 shots for Athens in the OT loss.

Ottawa West 4 – Renfrew 1

The Ottawa West Golden Knights stayed hot with a 4-1 road win over Renfrew.

After Colton Vereyken gave the Timberwolves the early lead, Ottawa West responded with four unanswered goals. Connor Cole, Justin Murdoch, and Antonio Zito all struck in the second period before William McCulligh sealed the win early in the third.

Carter Overhoff backstopped the Golden Knights with 23 saves in the win, while Dylan Elliott was strong despite the loss, stopping 43 shots for Renfrew.
