Ottawa, ON – Saturday night EOJHL action featured two matchups as Ottawa West visited Carleton Place and Ottawa traveled to Smiths Falls.
Ottawa West 5 – Carleton Place 0
The Ottawa West Golden Knights rolled to a 5-0 road victory over Carleton Place.
William McCulligh opened the scoring just 40 seconds in, followed by first-period goals from Connor Weido and Dominik Lemieux. Weido struck again early in the second before Thomas Dickey sealed the win late in the third.
Carter Overhoff turned aside all 17 shots he faced for the shutout, while Callum Clare made saves in defeat.
Ottawa 7 – Smiths Falls 5
The Ottawa Jr. Canadians outlasted the Smiths Falls Bears in a 7-5 shootout of offense.
Caleb Bourne recorded a hat trick and four points for the Bears, but Ottawa countered with a balanced attack as seven different players found the back of the net. Goals came from Thomas Robillard, Mattias Côté, Dax Mckinnon, Jason Cyr, Riley Bloom, Daniel Kyte, and Cayden Shields.
Between the pipes, Jackson Curran made 30 saves to secure the win, while Dean Spry and Brandon Partrick combined for 32 stops for Smiths Falls.
