Ottawa, Ontario – It was a busy Sunday around the EOJHL with six games throughout the day. In the RIchardson Division, the matchups were Arnprior vs Athens, Whitewater vs Brockville and Carleton Place vs Valley. In the Martin Division, Alexandria vs Richmond, Winchester vs Embrun, and Casselman vs Ottawa.
Alexandria 5, RIchmond 4
The Glens trailed four times throughout the game and then they score two goals within the last five minutes in the third to secure their first win. Dante Parent and Remy Regnier each lead their teams with two goals while Oliver Wray added one goal. Van Wieren made 36 saves in the win and Alexandria’s power play went 2-for-6.
Noah Dioszeghy scores twice in the Richmond loss. Shots were 40-38 for Richmond and both team combined for 108 PIM.
Embrun 6, Winchester 3
The Panthers have now won two consecutive games after going 0-2 to start the season. Isaac Leduc and Juno Gregoire each tally two goals while Eric Skyba and Marshall Drevniok added two assists. Beaudoin scored his first goal of the year. Bowen made 26 saves for his first EOJHL win.
Shane Moodie scores twice on the back end and Nate Supryka was the other goal scorer for Winchester. Shots were 44-29 for Embrun.
Athens 4, Arnprior 3
The Athens Aeros pick up their third consecutive victory and giving Arnprior their first loss this season. Manderson scores twice while Ty Nicholson had a three point game with 1G/2A. Palmer also tallied his second goal this season in the second. Sprague also got on the scoresheet with two assists.
Duncan (2G/1A) and Cuglietta (3A) each collect three points for Arnprior. McGregor collects multi-points with 1G/1A as he is on a two game point streak.
Whitewater 3, Brockville 1
The Kings take their first win of the season as Mathieu Paquin tallied 1G/2A and is currently on a two game point streak. Tallon added two assists while Holmes and Roy each scored once for Whitewater. Issac Wilson makes 29 saves. The Kings went 2-for-4 on the power play.
Vincent Busseau had Brockville’s only goal. Shots were 37-30 in favour for Whitewater.
Carleton Place 6, Valley 1
The Jr. Canadians would score five unanswered goals in the first two periods as Carleton Place pick up their third win this season. Seibert, Swyer, Greene and Edgerton each tallied one goal and Dickey scores twice. Logue would lead his team with three assists.
Sam Klawitter would tally Valley’s only goal in the loss. Mitchell makes 26 saves in the win as Carleton Place outshot Renfrew 38-27.
Casselman 5, Ottawa 2
The Vikings would score five unanswered goals as they go to 3-0 to start the season. Batista, Chartrand and Simard each collect 1G/1A while Mathieu Talbot would score the game winner in the second period. Borgia also tallied one goal.
Connor Fraser and Justin Cox would collect their first goals of the season as Ottawa goes to 1-2 this year.
