Thursday Recap | Casselman and Perth record key wins

Ottawa, ON – There were two games Thursday night – as Casselman took on Ottawa West in a potential playoff preview and Whitewater hosted Perth as the Kings were look for a key victory.

Both teams combined for six goals in a crazy first period but after that, there were only three goals combined in the last two periods. Gagnier, Cossette, Boucher and Williams each tallied 1 G / 1 A. Legare, Peladeau, and Chabot all had two assists. The Vikings win the season series 3 games to 1 and break their two game losing streak.

Andrew MacKinnon, Justin Jamer and Nolan Marshall each collect one goal in Golden Knights loss. They snapped their two game winning streak. The Vikings win puts them five points ahead for second place in the Martin Division and Conference. They’ll need to win two games in able to have home ice advantage in the playoffs. These teams will face off for Game 1 of the Barkley Cup Quarter-Finals in two weeks.

F | Perth 1, Whitewater 0

This game was a low scoring affair which only saw one goal from Nick Andre in the third period. Jonathan Peacock made 24 saves for his second shutout this season. They’ve now won two consecutive games and are now tied with Brockville and Westport for 1st place in the Richardson Division.

Kevin Proulx had an outstanding game, making 40 saves for Whitewater. They’ve now lost two straight games. The Kings are in must win mode tonight as this time they travel to Perth for a 7:30 puck drop. They are 10-points back of the final playoff spot with seven games left.
