Thursday Recap | Ottawa West and Brockville with wins

Ottawa, Ontario – Both games in the CCHL2 were ended by one goal. Ottawa West completed the comeback against Westport, while Brockville defeated Casselman in a shootout.

F | Ottawa West 4, Westport 3

The Golden Knights were down 3-0 after the first period, and two unanswered goals in the second and two more in the third for their 21st victory of the season. The win snaps OWGK’s three game losing streak.

Sean Kearns scored the game-winning-goal with just over five minutes left in the game. He finished the night with two goals and Justin Jamer had 1G/2A.

Westport loses the season series 2-0. Both of their losses against the Golden Knight’s was because they couldn’t hold onto the lead in both. Armstrong and Patterson had multi-point games and the Rideaus’ were outshot 41-21 in the loss. Their two game losing streak comes to an end.

F\SO | Brockville 5, Casselman 4

The Tikis’ extend their winning streak to seven games. Ryan Hunter scored the shootout winner in the third round of the S/O. Paul Fine-Lease scored 1G/1A while Hunter, Cole and Davidson all found the net.

The Vikings trailed 4-1 going into the third period, and were able to score three unanswered goals to tie it. They get a point, but their six game winning-streak comes to an end. Yanick Dicaire had 1G/1A in the loss.
