Tuesday Recap | Casselman upsets OJC

Ottawa, ON – On Tuesday night, the #1 and #2 teams faced off for the third time this season. The Ottawa Canadians were leading the season series 2-0 against the Casselman Vikings.

The biggest story was Mathieu Chénier. He made 45 saves on 47 shots and won his 10th consecutive start without receiving a regulation or extra time loss. He is 10-0 with 1 shutout in 11 games this year. Louis Chabot scored the GWG in the second period on the power-play.

Chabot has five points in his last five games and his third GWG this year. Mathieu Talbot and Brandon Légaré got the first two goals to give a Vikings. Constantine Tzougarakis and Johnny Pickering scored the only goals in the second period for Ottawa.

The Vikings are 2-1 to start December while OJC has now loss two consecutive games for the first time this season. It’s also the first regulation loss since October 25th when they lost to Ottawa West 4-1. Ottawa out-shot Casselman 47-30 in this game.
