Tuesday / Wednesday Recap

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Canadians played their final game of the regular season against Whitewater on Tuesday, then Wednesday night saw the Brockville Tikis try to move up in the Richardson Division as they hosted the Athens Aeros.

Tuesday

F | Ottawa 7, Whitewater 1

Nicholas Seguin (1 G / 4 A), Thomas Freel (1 G / 3 A) and de Kemp (2 G / 1 A) all lead the way in the Canadians final game this season. OJC finishes the season 39-4-1 and will face either the Alexandria Glens or Char-Lan Rebels in the Barkley Cup Quarter-Finals.

Matthew McGuire also picked up his first goal of the season in a multi-point game and Devin Saumur ended the season with 21 goals also had two points. Canadians went 3-for-5 on the power play. Bennett Oxborough made 68 saves on 75 shots for Whitewater.

Wednesday

F | Athens 5, Brockville 1

Owen Webster, Eric Hulford and Gage Goerger each tallied 1 G / 1 A to snap the Aeros five game losing streak. Jacob Servage added two assists and Matt Berry scores his 20th goal this season. They are 1-0-1 against the Tikis in their last two games.

Jackson Grozelle had the only goal for Brockville. The Tikis have lost four in a row. They still remain 4th in the Richardson Division with two games remaining. Those games will be against Whitewater at home and on the road.
