Ottawa, Ontario – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League has announced it will suspend play until January 26th due to the new restrictions imposed on January 3rd by the provincial government.

Originally, the league was ready to resume the regular season on Thursday January 6th but the Ontario government announced that they will close hockey arenas, restaurants and gyms. These new restrictions will be in effect on Wednesday January 5th at 12:01am until January 26th.

The EOJHL is proud with the teams and commitment shown by the players, coaches, parents, trainers, management and ownership for keeping this league a safe environment for everyone. It’s disappointing to see the season delayed for another 21 days, but the EOJHL will follow all the public health guidelines from the Provincial of Ontario to make sure that everyone stays safe.
