OTTAWA, ON – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is thrilled to announce that Colton Rheaume, goaltender for the Casselman Vikings, has been voted the 2024-25 EOJHL Top Goaltender.
Rheaume, a standout rookie from Cornwall, ON, has had an extraordinary debut season in the league. The 2007-born netminder finished the campaign with an impressive 19-2-0 record, solidifying his place as one of the top goaltenders in the league. His remarkable performance was highlighted by a league-leading .935 save percentage (SV%) and a stellar 1.99 goals-against average (GAA). In addition, he ended the regular season tied for first in the league with two shutouts, further cementing his reputation as a top-tier stopper.
Throughout the season, Rheaume’s consistency and skill between the pipes were evident, as he allowed two goals or fewer in 13 of his 21 starts. His ability to keep his team in games and provide stability in net was critical to the Vikings’ success throughout the season. What makes Rheaume’s accomplishments even more impressive is that he achieved all of this as a rookie, showcasing exceptional maturity, poise, and ability in a highly competitive league.
Rheaume’s outstanding performance has earned him the well-deserved recognition as the EOJHL’s Top Goaltender, and he is poised for an exciting future in junior hockey.
