Ottawa, Ontario – The CCHL2 is proud to announce that Artyom Shiman, Brent Pledge-Dickson and Joel Hunt are the Week 11 Stars of the Week.
1st Star: ’01 F Artyom Shiman (Whitewater Kings)
Shiman, 17, scored three-goals and four-assists (7 pts) in a 10-3 win over the Char-Lan Rebels on Sunday afternoon. His seven-points now sets a new CCHL2 season high for points in a game. The hat-trick was also the first of his career. The Pembroke Lumber Kings prospect leads all rookies in goals (18) and ranks second among them in points with 28 in 19 games.
2nd Star: ’98 F Joel Hunt (Casselman Vikings)
Hunt, 20, scored four-goals and two-assists (6 pts) in three-games last week. The Embrun, Ontario native helped the Vikings to a perfect 3-0 week – especially on Wednesday when he capped off his three-point game (2G/1A) with a the game-winning-goal against Brockville. His goal on Sunday was also his 20th goal of the season (T-1st) becoming just the third player to hit the 20-goal plateau. He had never reached the 20-goal mark in his career prior to Sunday.
3rd Star: ’00 G Brent Pledge-Dickson (Winchester Hawks)
Pledge-Dickson, 18, made 66 saves on 67 shots in a 2-1 win over Westport on Saturday. That sets a new CCHL2 season-high for saves made in a game as previous high was made last week when Mitchell Rukavina made 59 saves on 60 shots. The Ottawa, Ontario native finished the week 1-1 with seven goals allowed on 108 shots.
HM: 00 F Janick Lacroix (Ottawa Jr. Canadians)
Lacroix, celebrated his 18th birthday on Saturday night and scored his first career CCHL2 hat-trick on Friday. He finished with four-goals and two-assists (6 pts) in their perfect 2-0 week. The Orleans, Ontario native is on a eight-game point-streak (9G/7A) and has 19 points (11G/7A) in 11 games since joining the Canadians from the CCHL Tier 1 Hawkesbury Hawks.
