CCHL2 Power Rankings Week 13 By: Mason Detre 

  1. Casselman Vikings (21-6-1) | Last week: 2 | Results: 3-2W at OJC, 4-3L vs WIN, 7-0W vs CHR | The Vikings had a big win over their rivals on Tuesday then ran into a hot goalie from Winchester but were able to bounce back in big fashion against the Rebels.

 

  1. Ottawa Canadians (24-2-1) | Last week: 1 | Results: 3-2L vs CAS | The Canadians lost two games in a row for the first time this season. To start the season, Ottawa won 14 straight then 10 straight games before the two losses.

 

  1. Ottawa West Golden Knights (17-8-2) | Last week: 3 | Results: 2-1L vs EMB | The Golden Knights have one more game before the holidays. They couldn’t score a regulation goal against Embrun in their loss this week.

 

  1. Perth Blue Wings (16-8-3) | Last week: 4 | Results: 6-4L vs ARN, 4-3OTL at CPB | This team had a 4-0 lead very early in regulation against the Packers before it came crashing down – allowing six unanswered goals. Then couldn’t find a way pass Carleton Place once again.

 

  1. Brockville Tikis (13-8-4) | Last week: 6 | Results: 5-2W vs CHR, 4-2W at EMB, 3-2OTL at ATH | These Tikis are playing really hot. They won their home game against Char-Lan and finished the week with three of four points on the road.

 

  1. Westport Rideaus (13-9-3) | Last week: 5 | Results: 7-4L at REN | It was another losing week for Westport. Once again, they couldn’t find away to win against a high scoring Renfrew Timberwolves squad.

 

  1. Carleton Place Jr. Canadians (16-11-1) | Last week: 9 | Results: 4-3OTW vs PER, 3-1W at ATH | This team is 4-1 in December with one more game before the holidays. There only loss came against Brockville. They won another contest against Perth, ending the week with a big W against Athens.

 

  1. Char-Lan Rebels (14-11-2) | Last week: 7 | Results: 5-2L at BRO, 2-1OTW vs ALX, 7-0L at CAS | The Rebels couldn’t find a way to beat top teams this week, getting only one victory in three games.

 

  1. Alexandria Glens (14-11-3) | Last week: 8 | Results: 5-1W vs WIN, 2-1OTL at CHR | After a big win against Winchester Friday night, they played the Rebels and ended up with a point in a low scoring game.

 

  1. Arnprior Packers (12-9-3) | Last week: 10 | Results: 6-4W at PER, 8-6L vs EMB | The Packers showed character after coming back down 4-0 against Perth. Unfortunately, they finished the week 1-1 after a tough 8-6 loss to Embrun.

 

  1. Renfrew Timberwolves (11-13-2) | Last week: 11 | Results: 7-4W vs WPR | The Timberwolves win their 11th game of the year after scoring seven or more goals against Westport in the last two games against them.

 

  1. Athens Aeros (8-10-5) | Last week: 12 | Results: 3-2OTW vs BRO, 3-1L vs CPB | The Aeros three game winning streak came to an end against Carleton Place. These players can potentially turn their season around after their recent winning streak.

 

  1. Winchester Hawks (10-15-3) | Last week: 13 | Results: 4-3W at CAS, 5-1L at ALX, 7-6OTL at RCH | A gutsy performance against Casselman and that is all because of Lucas Devries who made 52 saves in the one-goal victory. They were able to pick three of six points this week.

 

  1. Embrun Panthers (9-16-5) | Last week: 15 | Results: 2-1W at OW, 4-2L vs BRO, 8-6W at ARN | This team always has had trouble scoring goals, but it was not case against Arnprior as they put 8 pucks in the back of the net. In total, they had 12 goals this week.

 

  1. Richmond Royals (8-17-1) | Last Week: 16 | Results: 4-3W vs WHT, 6-4W at WHT, 7-6OTW vs WIN | Not often you see a team win three games in a row from a team that is very young. They won the home and home series against Whitewater then won in OT against Winchester.

 

 

  1. Whitewater Kings (5-13-5) | Last week: 14 | Results: 4-3L at RCH, 6-4L vs RCH | The Kings had the opportunity to pick up wins when they needed to but couldn’t find a way. They only have five wins this season.
