Week 13 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The CCHL Tier 2 is proud to announce its Week 13 Stars of the Week. Noah Haymes gets the first star for the Ottawa West Golden Knights and second star goes to Perth Blue Wings forward Patrick Yates. The third star is going to Ottawa Jr. Canadians forward Will Fitzsimmons. Finally, Honorable Mention goes to Sean Kearns of the Ottawa West Golden Knights.

First Star: F Noah Haymes, Ottawa West Golden Knights (5 G / 1 A)

Haymes, 20, tallied five-goals and one-assist in three games this week. He led his team to a 2-1 week after wins against Char-Lan on Thursday night and Richmond on Sunday afternoon which needed extra time. On Thursday, he collected his second career hat trick. The last time he had a hat trick was against Char-Lan on November 8th 2018. It was his first career hat trick. He then, collected two goals plus an assist for three points against Richmond. The Ottawa, Ontario native has been off to a terrific start by scoring 11 goals and 17 assists in 25 games.

Second Star: F Mack Miller, Perth Blue Wings (2 G / 5 A)

Miller, 20, tallied back-to-back OT winners against Winchester on Friday night and then against Arnprior on Sunday afternoon. To start the week, Miller didn’t collect a point in a 6-2 win against Brockville. On the road in Winchester, he had a good night by tallying one goals plus three assists for four points. Finally, netted one goal and two assists against Arnprior. The Kanata, Ontario native led Perth to it’s first championship since 1996 last season and is now in his final year of his junior hockey career. This season, he has 12 goals and 20 assists in 28 games.

Third Star: F Will Fitzsimmons, Ottawa Jr. Canadians (2 G / 4 A)

Fitzsimmons, 17, collected at least a point in every game this week against Ottawa West, Casselman and Carleton Place as OJC was able to go 3-0 on the week. Fitzsimmons added one assists against Ottawa West on Tuesday, then collected two goals in the third against Casselman on Thursday. Finally, tallied three assists in a 5-3 win over Carleton Place on Saturday. He is currently an Ottawa Jr. Senators prospect and has been called up to three games with the big club and has tallied one assist. The Ottawa, Ontario native currently has 5 goals and 14 assists in 25 games this season.

Honorable Mention: F Sean Kearns, Ottawa West Golden Knights (7 A)

Kearns, 18, tallied seven assists in three games this week. The only time that Kearns didn’t tally a point was on Tuesday night against OJC. In the Golden Knights big win over Char-Lan on Thursday, he collected five assists and it was his first-five point game of his CCHL Tier 2 career. On Sunday afternoon, he added two assists against Richmond and is currently on a two game point streak. The Ottawa, Ontario native has 12 goals and 24 assists in 26 games this season. He is currently sitting 5th in the league with 36 points and 3rd in the league in assists (24).
