Week 15 and 16 power-rankings

CCHL2 Power Rankings Week 15 and 16

  1. Ottawa Canadians (28-2-1) | Last week: 1 | Results: 5-2W at ALX | The Canadians continued their winning streak to four games after a win against Alexandria. They’ll have two games this upcoming week starting Tuesday.

 

  1. Casselman Vikings (22-6-1) | Last week: 2 | Results: 4-3W vs WPR | After their game got postponed before the holidays, the Vikings played a home game on an odd Saturday night. They played a very tight game against Westport but found a way to win.

 

  1. Ottawa West Golden Knights (20-8-2) | Last week: 3 | Results: 3-2W vs RCH, 2-0W at WIN | The Golden Knights faced two teams that are in the bottom of the standings. They had a strong third period against Richmond followed by a  dominating game against Winchester where Daoust got his first career regular season shutout.

 

  1. Brockville Tikis (16-9-5) | Last week: 6 | Results: 8-4W at REN, 4-1W at RCH, 7-3W at WPR | These tikis can score lots of goals. Two weeks ago, before New Years, they found a way to win against Renfrew and Richmond. This week it was offensive production from Glazer and Toomey.

 

  1. Perth Blue Wings (17-9-3) | Last week: 4 | Results: 9-2W vs REN, 3-0L vs ALX | It was a great offensive performance from Ty Power in his Blue Wings debut. They had to give up Cover in order to get Power. Sunday afternoon was very tough and had to face the hot Rousseau for Alexandria.

 

  1. Carleton Place Jr. Canadians (17-12-1) | Last week: 7 | Results: 4-3OTW vs CHR | The Canadians showed lots of character by coming back against the Rebels in the third and before going on to win it in OT. They are also in the mix of first place in the Richardson Division.

 

  1. Westport Rideaus (15-11-3) | Last week: 5 | Results: 7-3L vs BRO, 4-3L at CAS | The Rideaus had to face adversity this week. Couldn’t find a way to top Brockville and played a very close game against Casselman.

 

  1. Alexandria Glens (16-13-3) | Last week: 8 | Results: 5-2L vs OJC, 5-4L vs REN, 3-0W at PER | The Glens didn’t have a day off on the weekend. They had to play three straight days between Friday-Sunday. The Glens allowed five goals in two straight games and then didn’t allow one goal against Perth.

 

  1. Char-Lan Rebels (14-13-3) | Last week: 9 | Results: 5-4L at EMB, 4-3OTL at CPB | The Rebels played a very close against Embrun and Carleton Place but couldn’t find a way to win this week. Markell led his team with 2G / 1A this week and Huntley had a two goal game against Embrun.

 

  1. Arnprior Packers (14-13-3) | Last week: 11 | Results: 2-1L at ATH, 5-1L vs ATH, 6-4W vs ATH | Arnprior lost their home-and-home series against Athens before 2019. This week they collect six goals against Athens in a bounce back win.

 

  1. Renfrew Timberwolves (13-15-2) | Last week: 10 | Results: 8-4L vs BRO, 9-2L at PER, 5-4W at ALX | Renfrew was blown out twice and got a win against Alexandria. They finished 1-2.

 

  1. Athens Aeros (11-14-5) | Last week: 12 | Results: 2-1W at ARN, 5-1W vs ARN, 6-4L at ARN, 5-1L at WHT, 9-3L vs WHT | The Aeros had five games in the last two weeks. This week they lost to Arnprior, and back-to-back games against Whitewater in three straight days. The Aeros were at .500 until this week.

 

  1. Embrun Panthers (11-17-5) | Last week: 13 | Results: 5-4W vs CHR, 5-2L at RCH | These Panthers are young and found a way to win on Friday in a home matchup against Char-Lan. Unfortunately their winning streak ended against Richmond.

 

  1. Whitewater Kings (8-13-6) | Last week: 15 | Results: 5-1W vs ATH, 9-3W at ATH | What a week for the Kings. Dylan Kuehl led his team with 6G / 1A this week and is a candidate for Player of the Week. He had a four-goal game with one helper in their win on Sunday. The Kings can still turn around their season with lots of games in hand on other teams in the league.

 

  1. Winchester Hawks (10-17-3) | Last week: 14 | Results: 2-0L vs OW | Brent Pledge-Dickson made 48 saves in their loss against Ottawa West. Despite his save percentage and goals against average, he has proven that he is an athletic goaltender in this league.

 

  1. Richmond Royals (9-22-1) | Last Week: 16 | Results: 4-1L vs BRO, 3-2L at OW, 5-2W vs EMB | Their only win came against Embrun on Sunday. They end the week 1-1 and lose one game before New Years.
