Week 18 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The CCHL Tier 2 is proud to announce its Week 18 Stars of the Week. Blake Kettyle picks up the first star of the Westport Rideaus for the first time this season and his second time being named a star this year. Second star goes to Francois Drouin of the Casselman Vikings and third star goes to Dylan Kuehl of the Renfrew Timberwolves. Honorable Mention goes to Danny Johnson of the Winchester Hawks.

First Star: G Blake KettyleWestport Rideaus (3 G / 4 A)

Kettyle, 20, continues to stay hot by collecting three goals and four assists this week. He picked up only two assists in a 9-4 loss to Renfrew on Friday, but had a big performance against Arnprior on Saturday by collecting his third hat trick of the season. He also added two assists for five points against the Packers With his seven point week, Kettyle extends his point streak to six games. He’s scored nine goals, to go along with nine assists during the point streak. The Perth, Ontario native leads the league in goals (33), assists (40), points (73) and is 1st in the league with the most game winning goals (9).

Second Star: F Francois Drouin, Casselman Vikings (4 G / 1 A)

Drouin, 19, collected 4 goals and 1 assists in two wins against Ottawa and Alexandria. On Tuesday, Drouin picked up his second career hat trick of his CCHL2 career in a four-point game against OJC. It’s his second four-point game of the season. He extended his point streak to two games on Thursday by scoring once against Alexandria. The Casselman, Ontario native has 20-goals, to go along with 12 assists for 32 points in 32 games this season. He also leads the team with five game winning goals.

Third Star:  F Dylan Kuehl, Renfrew Timberwolves (3 G / 2 A)

Kuehl, 18, netted three goals and two assists for a five-point week. In the 9-4 win over Westport on Friday, Kuehl collected his first four-point game of the season and then scored one in a shootout win over Brockville on Saturday. His point streak goes to three games (4 G / 3 A). The Killaloe, Ontario native has scores 13 goals, to go along with 11 assists and 24 points this season between Whitewater and Renfrew.

Honorable Mention: F Danny Johnson, Winchester Hawks (1 G / 5 A)

Johnson, 19, nets one goal and added five assists in three games this week. He added back-to-back assists against Char-Lan and Carleton Place. Johnson capped off the week by scoring a goal and three assists for his third four-point game of the season. It also extends his point streak to three games (1 G / 5 A). The Nepean, Ontario native has 9-goals, to go along with 21 assists for 30 points in 29 games.
