Week 21 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 is proud to announce it’s Week 21 Stars of the Week.

First Star: ’00 F Nolan Marshall (Ottawa West Golden Knights)

Marshall, 18, led the Golden Knights to a 2-1 week, scoring three goals and three assists. The former Kanata Lasers forward collected multi-point games in wins over Embrun (5-1) and Athens (4-2) while also scoring a goal in a loss against the Ottawa Jr Canadians. The Osgoode, Ontario native currently leads Ottawa West in points (38), assists (23) and is second in goals (15) in just 40-games this season.

Second Star: ’99 G Ryan Whitehurst (Ottawa Jr Canadians)

Whitehurst, 19, allowed two goals on 60-shots in wins over Ottawa West and Perth. On Thursday night he made 31-saves in a 4-2 victory over the Golden Knights and on Friday he recorded his fifth shutout of the season – stopping 29-shots in a win over Perth. The Ottawa, Ontario native has won his last nine starts is coming off January Goalie of the Month honors. This season he leads the CCHL2 in wins (25), GAA (1.89), SV % (.928), SO (5) and ranks third in total minutes played with 1685.

Third Star: ’99 G Ethan Lapenskie (Renfrew Timberwolves)

Lapenskie, 19, went 1-1, stopping 58 of 61-shots last week. The Barrys Bay, Ontario native made back-to-back starts last weekend, allowing one goal on 29-shots in a win over Carleton Place and making 30-saves in a loss against Westport. The third year Renfrew goaltender is 15-13 this season with no shutouts and a 3.81 GAA / .892 SV%.

HM: ’99 F Marc Brosseau (Embrun Panthers) 

Brosseau, 20, netted two goals and two assists in two games last week, as Embrun Panthers went 0-2. The Panthers captain has four goals and two assists over his last four games and has scored in five of his last nine games. The Metcalfe, Ontario native leads the Panthers in points (26), goals (14) while ranking second in third (12) in 34-games.
