Week 22 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 is proud to announce it’s Week 22 Stars of the Week.

First Star: ’98 F Andrew McIntyre (Renfrew Timberwolves)

McIntyre, 20, led his team to 1-1 last week, scoring five goals and one assists. On Friday night, he collected his first four goal game of the season in a win over Richmond (9-3) and then scored his 12th multi-point game with one goal and one assist in a loss to Whitewater (7-4). The Cobden, Ontario native is 1st in goals (41), 2nd in assists (44) and leads all players in points (85) with two games to play.

Second Star: ’01 F Ryan Bonfield (Perth Blue Wings)

Bonfield, 17, helped his team to 3-0-1 record last week, which tied them with Westport for 1st in the Richardson Division. The former Richmond Royal had four goals and two assists in four games. On Wednesday night, he collected a natural hat-trick including the OT winner. The Merrickville, Ontario native has 16 goals, 19 assists and 35 points in 24 games.

Third Star: ’02 G Owen Bennett (Carleton Place Jr Canadians)

Bennett, 16, allowed three goals on 69-shots in key wins against Westport and Athens. On Friday night, he made 47-saves on 49-shots in a 3-2 OT victory over the Rideaus and on Saturday he only made 19-saves on 20-shots in a 7-1 blowout win over Athens. Last week he went 2-0, 1.45 GAA, .936 SV% and a total of 66-saves. The Georgetown, Ontario native is 16-10-1, 2.53 GAA, .908 SV % and is 6th with 1659 minutes played.

HM: ’98 F Justin Turner (Ottawa Jr Canadians) 

Turner, 20, netted two goals and three assists in his only game against Char-Lan on Sunday night. It’s only his second five-point game of his career. The last time he had five points in a game was on November 4th 2017 when he was with the Ottawa West Golden knights. The Nepean, Ontario native is 8th in goals (25), 7th in assists (34), and 6th in points with 59 in his last year.
