Week 22 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The CCHL Tier 2 is proud to announce its Week 22 Stars of the Week. Zachary Power picks up the first star, who plays with the Alexandria Glens. Second star goes to Jack Haymes of the Ottawa West Golden Knights and third star goes to Ben Langille of the Renfrew Timberwolves. Jacob Cover of the Arnprior Packers picks up Honorable Mention.

First Star: F Zachary Power, Alexandria Glens (4 G / 7 A) 

Power 17, extended his point streak to six games by collecting 12 points in four games. Despite only winning one out of four games, Power has been one of their best forwards since being acquired in December. He tallied two points against Ottawa West (Thursday) and Casselman (Friday). His best performances came against Athens (Saturday) where he scored twice for a three-point game and then he capped off the week by scoring one goal and adding three assists against Embrun (Sunday). The Rockland, Ontario native has 12 goals, 12 assists and 24 points in 17 games since joining the Glens.

Second Star: F Jack Haymes, Ottawa West Golden Knights (5 G / 2 A)

Haymes, 18, had a great week by collecting seven points in three games. He leads his team to a 3-0 week by defeating Carleton Place, Alexandria and Char-Lan. He scored his first career hat trick against Carleton Place on Tuesday February 11th, then collected three points (1G / 2A) against Alexandria on Thursday February 13th. J. Haymes would cap off a great week by scoring his 24th of the season.  The Ottawa, Ontario is currently on a 11 game point streak (9G / 14A). He has 24 goals and 35 assists in 34 games during his first season in CCHL2.

Third Star: F Ben Langille, Renfrew Timberwolves (3 G / 4 A)

Langille, 18, collected seven points in four games this week. His only big game that he had was on Wednesday February 12th against Richmond by collecting two goals and three assists. He collected one point against Winchester and Brockville throughout the rest of the week. His four game point streak came to an end on Friday night against Perth where he collected four and five assists during that time. The Stittsville, Ontario native has 22 goals and 25 assists in 38 games during his rookie season.

Honorable Mention: D Jacob Cover, Arnprior Packers (3 G / 1 A)

Cover, 20, had a big two games against Westport on Friday February 14th and Sunday February 16th. He would score the tying goal in Westport that would bring the game to OT and Arnprior would win in a shootout. Cover would then have a big night on Sunday by collecting two goals and one assists to finish the week with four points. The Ottawa, Ontario native is in his final junior hockey and has eight goals, to go along with 17 assists in 37 games.
