Week 8 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The CCHL Tier 2 is proud to announce its Week 8 Stars of the Week. Anthony Ieradi takes home the first star, Artyom Shiman gets second star, and Marco Haw has the third star. Honorable Mention goes to Antonio Silenu.

First Star: F Anthony IeradiWestport Rideaus (4 G / 1 A)

Ieradi, 18, tallied four goals and one assists – helping the Rideaus to a 1-0-1 week. He picked his second hat trick of the season a four-point night against Char-Lan in a 7-5 win. He now has a five game point streak with 8 G / 3 A and also has a five game goal streak with eight goals. This season, he has set a new career high in goals (14) and points (28).

Second Star: F Artyom ShimanRenfrew Timberwolves (2 G / 3 A)

Shiman, 18, scored the OT winner against Westport to complete a three-point night on Friday (1 G / 2 A). The next day he was able to help his team defeat the Perth Blue Wings with a multi-point night. Shiman played with Whitewater in the first 27 games last year and collected 40 points. So far, he has 11 points in his first 15 games with Renfrew.

Third Star: F Marco HawWinchester Hawks (2 G / 2 A)

Haw, 18, picked up 1 G / 1 A in back-to-back games against Richmond and Carleton Place as Winchester was 2-0 once again. He also extends his point streak to four games with 2 G / 4 A. Haw played with the Ottawa West Golden Knights last year and was dealt to Winchester in the off season. He is one goal shy of tying his career high in goals (9).

Honorable Mention: D Antonio SilenuOttawa Canadians (1 G / 3 A)

Silenu, 18, has been on fire in his last four games by picking up two points against Char-Lan and Alexandria this week. He was another player that was with Casselman to start the year but went to Ottawa after he played four games. His point streak is now up to four games with 5 G / 3 A.
