Week 9 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The CCHL2 is pleased to announce it’s Week Nine Three Stars of the Week.

First Star: F Tasso Housakos (Ottawa Jr. Canadians)

Housakos, 19, scored six goals and two assists for a total of 8 points in two games for the Ottawa Jr. Canadians last week. The Monreal, Quebec native beaome the second player to score four-goals in a single game this year. That last player to capture that feat was Mikael Gibeault. He had two goals and one assist in an 8-1 win against Ottawa West and on Saturday, he tallied four goals and one assist for five points against Athens. The first year OJC forward has 17 goals, 10 assists and 27 points 18 games this year.

Second Star: F Ryan Glazer (Brockville Tikis)

Glazer, 17, scored four goals, helping the Tikis go 2-0 last week. He had back-to-back two-goal performances against Perth and Whitewater. It’s the rookie’s third two-goal game of the season. He now has 8 goals and 2 assists for a total of 10 points in 13 games.

Third Star: F Noah Haymes (Ottawa West Golden Knights)

Haymes, 19, had a total of two goals and two assists in three games with the Golden Knights. On Thursday he tallied two goals against Arnprior before collecting two assists against Casselman. The Ottawa, Ontario native has 11 goals and 8 assists for a total of 19 points in 19 games.

Honorable Mention: G Owen Bennett (Carleton Place Jr. Canadians)

Bennett, 16, was 1-1 with a 1.02 GAA and .954 SV% after allowing three goals on 65 shots this week. He made 42 saves in the win against Perth and only made 20 saves against Embrun. Overall he was solid.  The Georgetown, Ontario native is 6-5 with 1 shutout, 2.54 GAA and .911 SV% this year.
