Week Six CCHL2 Stars of the Week

Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League is happy to announce it’s Week Six Stars of the Week chosen by Dante De Caria and Mason Detre.

First Star: F Joel Driscoll, Arnprior Packers (4 G / 1 A)

Driscoll, 19, totaled four goals and one assist – helping the Packers to a 3-0 week. They recorded wins against Renfrew, Winchester and their rival Perth Blue Wings. He netted his first hat-trick of the season against the Timberwolves on Wednesday and scored the overtime winner against Winchester on Friday night. He now has 14 points (6G / 8 A) in 14 games this season.

Second Star: G Owen Bennett, Carleton Place Jr. Canadians (2 W / 1 SO)

Bennett, 16, made back-to-back starts on Friday and Saturday. He made 25 saves against Perth for his first shutout this year and stopped 23 of 25 shots in an overtime win against Alexandria. This week he was 2-0, 0.97 GAA, .960 SV%, 1 Shutout. He has won in his last five starts. Bennett improves to 5-2, 2.55 GAA and .902 SV% this season.

Third Star: G Miguel Daoust, Ottawa West Golden Knights (38 SVS + W vs. OJC)

Daoust, 20, helped to Golden Knights defeat the Ottawa Canadians on Thursday, breaking their undefeated record. He made a season high 38 saves on 39 shots in the win. This season he is 4-1, 2.47 GAA / .923 SV % in his final season.

Honorable Mention: F Hugh McHugh, Westport Rideaus (3 G / 3 A)

Mchugh had back-to-back three-point performances in contests against Char-Lan and Renfrew last week. He picked up 2G / 1A against the Rebels and then 1G / 2A against Renfrew. In 13 games, he’s scored seven goals, nine assists and 16 points.
