Weekend Recap | Ten Games

Ottawa, Ontario – It was a busy weekend in the EOJHL between February 26-27th with a total of ten games on the schedule.

Saturday: 

Westport 7, Valley 6

Westport extended their winning streak to two games by winning a high scoring affair against Valley. Connor Craig collected the hat trick while Jack Chiarello and Michel Bernier each added 1G/2A. Kyle Dagg and Jesse McCoy also got on the score sheet by scoring once. Evan Malloy picks up his 5th win of the year by making 25 saves.

The Valley Timberwolves showed character in the end by attempting to come back down 7-3 late in the game. Nicholas Cuddy scores twice, Leo Kluchert had 1G/2A for three points. Dawe, Bowers and Peplinskie also collects one goal in the Valley loss. Gaudreault tallied three assists and Peplinskie two assists. Both teams went 1-for-2 on the power play. Shots were 38-31 for Westport.

Arnprior 5, Carleton Place 4

The Arnprior Packers extended their win streak to three games by defeating Carleton Place in a close matchup. Dylan Kuehl led the by scoring a hat trick and Max Saito had three assists. The other goal scorers were Neil DUncan and Jonathan McMillan. Arnprior went 2-for-4 on the power play. Jett Miller only made 14 saves to collect his 14th win of the season.

Connor Dickey scores twice while Wallace and Inoue each collect one goal. Carleton Place went 1-for-3 on the power play. Shots were 32-18 for Arnprior.

Embrun 3, Char-Lan 1

The Embrun Panthers extend their winning streak to four games by getting a win over Char-Lan on the road. The last time these teams met, was on February 18th, when Char-Lan won 1-0. Ryley Flaig leads his team by scoring tice while Juno Gregoire had 1G/2A for three points and Riley Carisse had two assists. Aidan Foley collected his 16th win this season.

Nolan MacMillan tallied the only goal for Char-Lan in the loss.

Athens 7, Whitewater 6 SO

Athens continue their winning way by collecting their four consecutive victory. It was a high scoring affair between these two teams with Athens having to comeback in the third twice to force extra time. Ty Nicholso collected two goals and one assist including the shootout winner in the third round. Rhett Palmer had 1G/1A and also scored in a shootout. Andrew Sprague had 2G/2A for four points while Johnston had 1G/1A.

Sean Tallon, Patrick Holmes and Reid Greer each collected 1G/1A. The other goal scorers were Lyons, Paquin and Martin. The Whitewater Kings outshot Athens 41-31 despite the loss.

Ottawa 4, Richmond 3

Despite Ottawa playing short throughout the game, they were able to score four unanswered goals to get the win. Gabriel Yorke scores twice while Kelleher, Carr and Cote each tallied 1G/1A. Connor Baillie made 30 saves for his 10th win this season. Ottawa snaps their two game losing streak.

Ethan Greene, Luke Richardson and Francesco Sicoli each tallied one goal in the loss. Gabriel Arrigo made 40 saves. Richmond went 1-for-9 on the power play. Shots were 44-33 for OJC.

Sunday: 

Richmond 5, Casselman 4 

The Richmond Royals scores with 25 seconds left in the third to secure a big win over Casselman. Curran Gilmour scores the game winner. Sicoli added three assists whileEvan Burgess scores his first goal of the season. Luke Richardson collect two goals and Kylan Tavares added 1G/1A. Richmond snaps their two game losing streak.

Xavier Borgia scores twice for three points while Gagnier, Stewart and Bastien each had two points. Zachari Racine made 39 saves in the win. Sots were 44-32 for Richmond.

Alexandria 4, Winchester 3 SO

The Glens picked up a huge shootout win in a late night affair in Winchester. Ben Kay collects the shootout winner. Jacob Massie scores his first goal of the season while Tanner Legue and Maxime Desjardins each tallied one goal. Matthew Catton made 41 saves in the win. Alexandria went 1-for-5 on the power play.

Colby Schroeder, Ric Shin and Kyle Filion were the goal scorers for Winchester as they pick up one point. Shots were 45-44 for Alexandria.

Whitewater 4, Arnprior 3

The Whitewater Kings score with 33 seconds left as Isaac Holts scores his first goal of the season coming on the power play. Brandon Reinisch scores twice in the second period and Braeydon Fenn scores his 6th of the season. The Kings collect three out of six points between Friday-Sunday. Issac Wilson made 35 saves in the win.

Neil Duncan scores twice for 30 goals on the year and Dylan Kuehl collects his 16th goal in the loss. Both teams scored once on the power play. Shots were 38-33 for Arnprior.

Perth 7, Valley 4

The Perth Blue Wings extended their winning streak to four games. Ben Langille (2G/1A) and Keagan Johnston (1G/2A) each tallied three points while Kazda, Howarth and Mierau each collect two points. Salter, Grundy and Blake Armitage also had one goal. Matthew Maas made 30 saves in the win. Perth went 2-for-5 on the power play.

Jack Shulist scores twice while Paron and Kluchert each tally one goal in the loss. Clattenburg and Dawe each registered two assists. Valley went 1-for-7 on the power play. Shots were 45-34 for Perth.

Athens 2, Carleton Place 1

This was a very tight game between these two teams as Athens came away with the win. Rhett Palmer collected his 15th of the year to get the scoring started. Andrew Sprague would give Athens the 2-0 lead and the game winner. The Aeros would collect their 18th win this season. Kaleb Griffin makes 35 saves in the win.

Owen Smetham would collect Carleton Place’s only goal in the loss. Bradley Mitchell made 33 saves. Shots were 36-35 for Carleton Place.
