Weekly Recap | Eleven Games

 

Ottawa, Ontario – Week three in the EOJHL saw eleven total games from Monday October 10th to Friday October 15th. It was a mix of games where a lot of them were close games and some of games were blowouts.

Monday: Winchester 7, Richmond 5

It was a wild game where Winchester ended up on top. Nicolas Corry leads the way with a hat trick and five points while Lucas Leblanc had 2G / 1A. On defense, Garett Craig, Daniel Beauchemin and Owen Grundy each tallied two points. The Hawks went 2-for-7 on the power play. Bryce Kijewski made 45 stops in the win.

In the Richmond loss, Tyler Cutts had a hat trick and four points while Reid Johnston had five points. Rorwick collect 1G / 1A to continue his point streak. Shots were 50-38 for Richmond.

Tuesday: Ottawa 4, Casselman 2

Ottawa was able to score three unanswered goals in the first period as Felix Schnell made 34 saves in the win. Casselman put lots of pressure during the second by putting on 24 shots but it wasn’t enough. Liam Kelleher collected a goals and three assists while Tyler Vezina, Danik Marion and Kai Nicholson were the other goal scorers. The Canadians had three power play goals during the first frame.

Alex Tornberg and Todd McBain had goals during the second in the loss. Mael Gendron made 34 saves and were 0-for-3 on the power play.

Tuesday: Char-Lan 4, Alexandria 1

The Rebels win another 4-2 game over Alexandria to take a 2-0 season series lead. Hunter Brennan scores twice while Saltarelli and Malyon each tallied three points. Graham Robertson collect his first goal of the season late in the third period to seal it. Maxime Mayer made 22 saves.

Tyler Sauve was the lone Alexandria goal scorer in the loss. Jason Van Wieren made 31 saves.

Wednesday: Brockville 7, Valley 1

The Tikis were able to bounce back in a big way against Valley after being blown out by Athens last week. Keegan Juchau collect his first EOJHL hat trick while Matteo Moretta had 1G / 2A. Other players that had two points for Brockville were Stringer and Pipe. Mugunthan goal in the first was the game winner. Dustin Riff made 28 saves in the win.

Connor McGee had Valley’s only goal in the loss. Shots were 48-29 for Brockville and went 2-for-7 on the man advantage.

Wednesday: Arnprior 7, Carleton Place 3

The Packers continued their roll offensively and were able to put Carleton Place away in the third. Jake Coleman scores twice while McGregor and Klawitter each had three points. Inoue, Verch, Rampton and Cuglietta each contribute with one goal. Almstedt, Ryan, Bertrand and Brooks tallied at least one point on the back end. Jade Choletta made 25 saves.

Alex McGlade scores a hat trick for the Canadians. Shots were 43-28 for Arnprior.

Thursday: Ottawa West 3, Winchester 2 (OT)

This was a tight game throughout 60 minutes. Winchester was able to force OT with two seconds left from Evan Houle. Adam Cater collects the OT winner 38 seconds in and had two points on the night. Tardioli and Bohm each collect one goal as the Golden Knights picked up their fourth win this season in their one game this week.

Owen Grundy had a goal in the second period in the OT loss. The Golden Knights went 1-for-2 on the power play and outshot Winchester 33-21.

Thursday: Casselman 6, Richmond 2

The Vikings were able to bounce back from Tuesday night. Mael Gendron made 27 saves in the win. Sebastien Ouimet scores twice including the game winner and Stewart had three points. McCarthy and Ouellette also had two points. Watson and Baccardax also had goals during the third period. Casselman goes 1-for-3 on the power play while Richmond was 1-for-3.

Genereux and Rorwick each tallied one goal in the Richmond loss. Gabe Arrigo made 38 saves. Shots were 44-29 for Casselman.

Friday: 

Arnprior 8, Whitewater 2

The Packers were in the mix of playing three games in a row starting off with Whitewater and it was an offensive onslaught. Jake Coleman had two goals and six points, Samuel Klawitter had a goal for five points and Mcgregor had two goals and four points. Rampton, Brokks and Almstedt were the other goal scorers for Arnprior. They went 3-for-8 on the power play and Jett Miller made 22 saves.

The Kings had Facchini and Lyons score in the losing effort. Isaac Wilson made 45 saves. Shots were 53-24 for Arnprior.

Embrun 3, Ottawa 1

The Panthers continue to stay unbeaten in regulation by scoring three goals in a row during the first 40 minutes from Flamini, Belanger and Gregoire. Aidan Foley turned away 24 saves in the win. They went 1-for-2 on the man advantage and went to 4-0-1.

Danik Marion had the Canadians only goal in the loss. Felix Schnell made 27 saves. Shots were 30-25 for Embrun.

Perth 4, Athens 2

Perth goes to 5-0 to start the season with a close victory over Athens. Ben Anderson, Justin Salter and Gabe DiVirgilio each tallied two points while George Carson and Travis Ouellette collected one goal. The captain Keagan Johnston had the game winner. Brady McEwan made 24 saves. Perth goes 1-for-6 on the power play.

Jacob Dixie and Evan Cory were the goal scorers in the Athens loss. Shots were 38-26 for Perth.

Char-Lan 3, Winchester 2

The Rebels collected a huge close victory over Winchester. Branchaud scored shorthanded, Declan McDonald collects his first goal of the season and Jeremy Chenier had the game winner on a power play. The Rebels went 1-for-2 on the man advantage. Tanner Gillies made 35 saves in the win.

Lucas Leblanc and Daniel Beauchemin each tallied a goal in the loss. The Hawks went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Hawks outshot Char-Lan 37-30. Winchester finishes the week by going 1-1-1.
