Whitehurst’s third shutout gives Canadians league leading 16th win

Ottawa ON- The lone game Tuesday saw the number one Ottawa Jr. Canadians take down the newly ranked number three Westport Rideaus in CCHL 2 action at the Earl Armstrong Arena.

 Ottawa Jr. Canadians (16-1-0) goaltender Ryan Whitehurst picked up his 11th win and league leading third shutout with a 22 save performance Tuesday, against the Westport Rideaus (10-5-1).

Up front, Justin Turner netted two goals along with multi-point performances from Andre Giordano, Nicolas Seguin and Eric Murphy. Five different Canadians had goals in the lopsided victory. Canadians are now on a two-game winning streak.

For Westport, both goaltenders saw action as Kaleb Griffin allowed all 7 goals on 16 shots, and Patrick Leaver stopped all 16 shots he faced in relief. The Rideaus four game win streak also came to an end. Ottawa outshot Westport 32-22.
