Winchester Hawks’ Payton Halpenny Recognized as EOJHL Trainer of the Year

Ottawa, ON – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is pleased to announce that Payton Halpenny of the Winchester Hawks has been named the 2025-26 EOJHL Trainer of the Year.

Halpenny earned the honour after collecting the highest point total in league voting, finishing with 23 points under the league’s 5-3-1 voting format.

Throughout the season, Halpenny demonstrated outstanding dedication to player health, preparation, and recovery. Serving as an essential part of the Hawks’ hockey operations staff, Halpenny worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure athletes were prepared to perform at their highest level while prioritizing safety and wellbeing.

The Trainer of the Year Award recognizes the athletic therapist or trainer who has exhibited exceptional professionalism, commitment, and impact within their organization and across the league.
