Carleton Place moves on, Renfrew eliminated

Ottawa, Ontario – The Carleton Place Jr Canadians defeated the Renfrew Timberwolves 4-2 to advance to the Richardson Division Semi-Finals.

Carleton Place will now play the first place Westport Rideaus’ in a best of seven series starting this week.

The Canadians scored three unanswered goals early in the third period to tie and take the lead. Gavine Browne tied it at the 6:38 mark, and Andrew Vanderklei and Oliver Carriere scored two minutes later, six seconds apart to make it a 4-2 game. Browne and Carriere both finished with three-point games.

Captain Luka Marinic had given the T-Wolves the 2-1 lead, but they were unable to hold on. The shots were even 23-23.

Four players played their final CCHL2 game last night. Congratulations to Luka Marinic, Andrew McIntyre, Spencer Hill and Chad Moore on great careers.
