Alexandria, Ontario – The Char-Lan Rebels took a 1-0 Wild Card Series lead on the Alexandria Glens with 1-0 win on Tuesday night inside the Glengarry Sports Palace.
Grant Craig made his first post-season start, and he made 34-saves for his third overall shutout with season. Brennan Markell scored the only goal, which came early in the third period. Craig becomes the 11th goalie in CCHL2 playoff history to record a shutout.
The last time a team won 1-0 in the playoff game was game one of the Richardson Division Wild Card Series between Westport and Athens in 2016-17.
Game two will be on Thursday night in Williamstown. The Rebels will have an opportunity to take the series on home ice.
