Morning Recap | Three games

Ottawa, ON – There were three games on Saturday night as Westport took on Whitewater, Embrun vs Char-Lan and Athens traveled to play against the Carleton Place Jr Canadians.

Westport 5, Whitewater 3

It was a special night for General Manager/Head Coach Michael “Bundy” Seed as he was able to get his 400th win as coach/400th as General Manager. He now has 555 regular season wins combined as the Head Coach and GM. During the game, both Brock Boisclair and Zack Pilon each collected 1 G / 2 A. Kaleb Griffin also made 28 saves for his 6th win.

Connor Manderson, Blake Kettyle and Anthony Ieradi also tallied 1 G / 1 A in a multi-point night. Mason Burkhart, Nick Cuddy and Noah Bradburn had goals in the Whitewater loss. Shots were 39-31 for Westport.

Embrun 2, Char-Lan 0

William Nguyen made 31 saves for his second shutout of his CCHL Tier 2 career. Tristian Taillefer would get the game winning goal back in the second period and Maverick Labrie added some insurance with his second goal of the season.

Cole Eakins also had a very good performance in his third game as a Rebel by making 25 saves on 27 shots. The Rebels did out shoot Embrun 31-27.

Carleton Place 4, Athens 0

Unfortunately the goalless drought for Athens has been extended to 232:53 and is now four consecutive games of not scoring one goal as their losing streak continues. On the good side, Ross Furgiuele was excellent between the pipes by making 51 saves.

Bradley Mitchell made 15 saves for his second shutout of the season. Connor Nicoll and Patrick Larkin each added two assists. Spencer Marshall, Bill Gourgon, Mike Patchell and Reid Oliver were the goal scorers for Carleton Place.
