Ottawa, Ontario – The Ottawa West Golden Knights will host the Winchester Hawks on Thursday November 4th at the Barbara Ann Scott Arena for DIFD night in honor of Glen Richardson. In November 2010, Daron Richardson died from suicide. From this tragedy, Daron’s friends and family created a movement and their mission is to raise awareness, inspiring conversations and transforming youth mental health.

Thursday night, we will honor the life of Glen Richardson. His favourite charity was DIFD at The Royal. Glen was a father, grandfather, friend and mentor. He spent countless hours at hockey rinks either as a player, coach, GM and Commissioner. Glen has passion for the game and the love that he has showed for the community. He used to be a skate sharpener at the Barbara Ann Scott Arena and whenever someone need their skates sharpened, Glen would always be the guy to help.

Glen also did an amazing job when he got the EOJHL Commissioners job. He had the best time while being a Commissioner in Jr. B. During the game, be sure to check the DIFD Table, 50/50 and special items. The winner of the 50/50 draw will get a signed Arizona Coyotes puck, jersey and a hockey card from Jakob Chychrun. You can donate at the DIFD Table or you can visit DIFD at The Royal on their website to donate at difd.com
