PLAYOFF RECAP | Casselman scores with 15 seconds left to take Game 2 and OJC leads series 1-0

Ottawa, Ontario – Game 2 of the Martin Division Semi-Finals was a must win game for Casselman against Ottawa West, as they were down 1-0 in the series while the Ottawa Jr. Canadians hosted the Embrun Panthers for Game 1 of the other Martin Division Semi-Finals.

Casselman 6, Ottawa West 5 (Series Tied 1-1)

It was a high scoring affair in Game 2 of the Martin Division Semi-Finals. Frédérick Gagnier scores the game winning goal with 15 seconds left to take Game 2. Xavier Léveillé had another great performance by scoring twice in a three-point night.

Mathieu Talbot had two goals in the second period while Adam Paquette scored his first of the series back in the first. Nicholas Campbell only made 27 saves for his third win this post-season. Casselman’s power play was 2-for-7 throughout the night.

Keon Troccoli-Roik scores two goals for his first three-point game in the playoffs while Byers added 1G / 1A. McFarlane and Edwards were the other goal scorers for Ottawa West. The Golden Knights were 2-for-6 on the power play while Pledge-Dickson made 31 saves in his second playoff start.

Ottawa 2, Embrun (Ottawa leads series 1-0)

The Canadians strike first in game one by coming back down 1-0 to take Game 1. After Tristian Taillefer scores his first of the post-season with 15 minutes left in the second, the former Jr. Senator Griiffin McGregor scores the tying goal. Those goals came just 1:31 apart.

Chazka Bush would score the game winner with 8:10 to go in the third period. Ryan Whitehurst was named second start and William Nguyen was third after both goalies had great performances. The Canadians were 1-for-2 on the power play.
