Ottawa, Ontario – Derick Viau has been named the new Director of Hockey Operations for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Viau has been involved with the EOJHL for over 15 years. Viau has started is Career with the Alexandria Glens in 2005 to 2015. In 2016, Viau moved to Vancouver Island and joined the Oceanside Generals of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League until 2018. Viau Moved back to Eastern Ontario in 2018 and rejoined is hometown team, the Alexandria Glens. In 2019, Viau become the General Manager of the Alexandria Glens until 2022. Viau Joined the Casselman Vikings for the 2022-23 season has Asst. Director of Hockey Operations and Director of Public Relations. Viau was thrilled and excited to get the new position as EOJHL Director of Hockey Operations.
“I am humbled and honoured by being named the next Director of Hockey Operations of the EOJHL. This is the largest league in the area with a rich history with some franchises dating back to the 1960s. I’ve had the pleasure of working in Junior B over the past 18 years. The experience I’ve accumulated over this time will serve me well as the Director of Hockey Operations.”, said Viau.
Viau will be big asset to the EOJHL and will do a terrific job as the new EOJHL Director of Hockey Operations.
