Ottawa, Ontario – The Brockville Tikis defeated the Carleton Place Jr. Canadians 2-1 on Wedneday night at the Brockville Memorial Center.
The Tikis’ captain Hunter Shipclark gave them a 2-0 lead at the 6:39 mark of the second period. That turned out to be the game-winning-goal because the Canadians Kyle Lightfoot added one just over four minutes later to make it a 2-1 game heading into the third period. He extends his point-streak to 11 straight games.
Jordan Yaremchuk made eight saves in the third to hold the lead, and finished the game with 24 saves for his 10th win this season. Garrett McArthur scored his first and with an assist on the winner, Tyler Toomey has points in eight of his last nine games.
Brockville finishes the month of January with a 6-1 record. They’re now three points ahead of the Perth Blue Wings for first in the CCHL2’s Richardson Division.
Carleton Place suffers their second straight loss. They will have chance to bounce back tonight at 7:15 when they’re hosted by the Ottawa West Golden Knights.
