RECAP | Char-Lan wins four straight games and Alexandria wins their final game of the season

Ottawa, Ontario – The Winchester Hawks traveled to Williamstown to take on Char-Lan in the first of two games this week and Athens were still in search of the first win of the regular season when they took on Alexandria.

Char-Lan 5, Winchester 2

The Char-Lan Rebels were able to come up with their fourth straight win with Noah Konink scoring his first career CCHL2 hat trick. All of his goals came on the power play. It took 1:23 for Konink to score a hat trick. It’s the quickest hat trick of the season by any player in the CCHL Tier 2.

Isaac Testani (3A) and Alexandre Elie (1G / 2A) each tally three points in the win. Parker Tallman also extended his point streak to two games by adding two assists. Marco Hawk and Noah Fraser each had one for Winchester in the loss. Char-Lan’s power play was 3-for-4.

Alexandria 5, Athens 1

The Alexandria Glens end the season on a high note with their ninth victory of the season. Nico Pozzebon collects 1G / 2A while Ryan Leonard and Jacob Lefebvre added two assists. Zachary Power’s goal extended his point streak to nine games to end the season.

Andy Lightle-Blais, Kyle Joly and Nicolas Corry were the other goal scorers for Alexandria. Kylan Tavares had Athens only goal in the second period in another Athens loss. Shots were 32-18 in favour of Alexandria. Athens will have one more chance to win their first game of the season when they take on the Ottawa Jr. Canadians on the final day of the season.
