Weekly Recap | Eight Games

Ottawa, Ontario – The EOJHL kept getting busy during the week with eight games. On Tuesday, OJC hosted Char-Lan and Brockville took on Carleton Place. Wednesday night saw Athens taking on Brockville. On Thursday, Ottawa West faced off against Alexandria and Casselman hosted Winchester. Friday witness Perth hosting Valley, Winchester on the road against Embrun and Westport played against Arnprior.

Tuesday: 

Ottawa 3, Char-Lan 1

Ottawa goes back to their winning ways by picking up their 6th win this season. Josie Cote scores twice while Justin Cox would collect the game winner in a multi-point night. Ian Lee makes 25 saves and OJC went 1-for-4 on the power play. Ottawa is 5-5 in their last 10 games.

Nolan MacMillan would score the Rebels only goal in the loss. They are now 0-2-1 in their last three games. Char-Lan was 0-for-7 on the power play.

Carleton Place 6, Brockville 3

Carleton Place continues to stay hot in the Richardson Division by picking up their eight straight win. Brennan Boyce scores his second game winning goal this season. Both of Boyce’s goals have came on the power play. Jonathan Swyer leads his team with 1G/2A and Rhys Smetham had 1G/1A. Grady Logue, Alex McGlade and William Bouwer were the other goal scorers for Carleton Place. Colter and Ireland would each collect two assists.

Brockville scores all of their three goals in the second period. Kobe McComber collects his first goal while Francesco Sicoli and Cole Dal Bello got a puck in the back of the net. Carleton Place went 3-for-7 on the power play. Shots were 31-30 for Brockville.

Wednesday: Athens 3, Brockville 2

The Athens Aeros was able to survive a potential third period comeback from Brockville. Jayden Boyer collects his eight goal this season and proved to be the game winner. It’s his second game winning goal this season. Ty Nicholson tallied 1G/1A and Tye Carswell collects one goal. Kaleb Griffin made 28 saves for his 5th win and snaps his three game losing streak. Athens went 1-for-4 on the power play while Brockville was 2-for-5.

Zachary Isaacson and Ethan Wooller would collect the Brockville’s power play goals in the loss. The Tikis have loss five consecutive games. Shots were 36-30 for Athens.

Thursday: 

Ottawa West 5, Alexandria 4

The Golden Knights pick up their 12th straight win and are 13-1 to start the season. Jack Haymes scores twice while Jared Brush and Sean Kearns tallied one goal. Justin Graham would collect his first goal and the game winner. Josh McMaster made 21 saves and collected one assist for his fifth win in between the pipes. The Golden Knights outshot Alexandria 40-25.

Alexandria was outscored by the Golden Knights 28-3 in their first three games of the season series and played a really good game on the ice. Remy Regnier, Austin Ma, Ethan Bradlet and Braden Legue would be the goal scorers for Alexandria. Nicholas Bell added two assists. Alexandria went 1-for-4 on the power play and Matthew Catton made 35 saves.

Casselman 3, Winchester 1

Casselman collects their 8th win and are 3-1-1 in their last five games. Mathieu Talbot and Samuel Barriere each collect 1G/1A for a multi-point night. Samuel Levesque would score an empty net goal in the third. Zachari Racine made 23 saves for his 6th win in between the pipes. The Vikings also went 1-for-5 on the man advantage.

Xavier Dusablon was excellent in between the pipes despite the loss. He made 48 saves on 50 shots. Colby Scroeder would collect Winchester’s only goal. Shots were 51-24 for Casselman. Winchester had their losing streak to two games.

Friday: 

Perth 7, Valley 0

Matthew Maas made 25 saves for his first career EOJHL shutout. It was a game of first’s in this one. Kyle James, Blake Armitage and Will Howarth each collect their first goal of the season. Ben Langille collects two goals while Carson Kazda and Keagan Johnston each had 1G/1A. Ben Anderson and Brayden Davidson also tallied two assists. Perth goes to 10-3-1 this season.

The Valley Timberwolves gets shutout for the first time this season. Shots were 40-25 for Perth.

Winchester 3, Embrun 2

The Winchester Hawks were able to bounce back after a loss to Casselman and come away with a win. It was scoreless heading into the third period. Colby Schroeder would scores his 6th goal this year which proved to be the game winner. He has goals in back-to-back games. Kyle Filion and Logan Bohm also tallied one goal. Justin Lee made 39 saves for his third win. The Hawks snaps their two game losing streak.

Juno Gregoire scores twice for his 10th goal this season while Connor MacDonald and Riley MacDonald each tally two assists. Zachary Bowen made 25 saves. Shots were 41-28 for Embrun. The Panthers snaps their two game winning streak.

Arnprior 5, Westport 4

The Arnprior Packers continue their winning ways by defeating Westport. Samuel Fortier collects his first two goals this season and proved to be the game winner. Neil Duncan extends his point streak to 17 games by collecting 1G/1A. The other goal scorers were Kade Leggett and Andrew Cuglietta. Porter Roberston made his Packers debut in between the pipes by making 30 saves for his first win.

Connor Craig collects two goals while Nick Tirch and Kyle Folkerson each had 1G/1A for Westport. Kyle Dage also had two assists. Shots were 45-34 for Arnprior.
