Midweek Recap | Embrun, OJC and OWGK get wins

Ottawa, ON – Wednesday night only featured one game between Embrun and Brockville in the BMC. ON Thursday their were two marquee matchups featuring the first place Ottawa Canadians against second-place Casselman Vikings then a battle for third place in the Martin Division with Char-Lan and Ottawa West.

Wednesday

F | Embrun 2, Brockville 1

The game was tied at one off goals from Jordan Dodge and Philippe Plante in the first period. In the final minutes in regulation, Benjamin Hamilton would score shorthanded to give Embrun their fifth win of the season.

Brockville Tikis outshot their opponent 38-23. Joshua Ivanski made 37 saves in the win.

Thursday

Ottawa 5, Casselman 2

This was a rivalry we have been waiting for. Canadians would score four unanswered goals in the first half of the game. They go to 17-1 and have now won three straight games. Janick Lacroix collected two goals plus the GWG. Seguin, Housakos and Freel each tallied two points.

Hunt had 1G / 1A and extends his point streak to 11 games. Vikings snap their nine-game winning streak. Whitehurst made 33 saves. Both teams combined for 128 PIM. This rivalry will now shift over to the Earl Armstrong Arena on December 11th. Ottawa leads the season series 2-0.

Ottawa West 5, Char-Lan 2

Third place was up for grabs in the Martin Division last night. Justin Jamer’s game winning goal would give the Golden Knights their ninth win and extend their home winning streak to five games. Noah Haymes led the way with his first career Hat-Trick and an apple.

Cook and Markell had the markers in the second period in the Rebels loss. Ottawa West outshot Char-Lan 43-34. Golden Knights also get their winning streak to two games.
