Morning Recap | Five Games

Ottawa, Ontario – It was a very busy night in CCHL Tier 2 as there were five games on Friday night.

Ottawa West 3, Perth 1

It was an intense game between these two teams. The Golden Knights picked up their first win against Perth since September 29th 2016 and their first road win against Perth since November 27th 2015. Sam Brown collected 1 G / 1 A and Noah Haymes also added two assists.

Sean Kearns would eventually pick up the game winner with 8:29 to go in regulation. His goal came on the power play. Late in the third, the Golden Knights would get a too many men penalty and a bench minor from their Coach. Ottawa West was able to kill off a full 5-on-3 when Perth was on the power-play.

The Golden Knights have won five consecutive games and set a season high in consecutive wins this season. Ottawa West also went 2-for-7 on the power play. Brent Pledge-Dickson made 23 saves for his 5th win of the season. Evan Were had the only goal for Perth in the loss. Shots were 34-24 for Ottawa West. Perth also snaps their six game winning streak.

F/OT | Ottawa 4, Alexandria 3

The Alexandria Glens comeback down 3-0 to score three unanswered goals to force OT. Mike Hall would get his second goal of the game and the OT winner. Antonio Silenu collect his fourth consecutive multi-point game with 1 G / 1 A. Ottawa outshot Alexandria 50-38.

Kyle Joly would collect his first two-goal game of his CCHL2 career for Alexandria. The Canadians would also go 2-for-5 on the power play.

Carleton Place 3, Embrun 2

This was another close matchup between two great teams. Carleton Place had two defenders scoring goals throughout the game. They were Patrick Larkin (2 G) and Mitchell Kealey who would eventually pick up the game winner early in the third period. The Canadians have won four of their last five games.

Embrun would score two late goals from Jarrett Ladouceur and Tristian Taillefer with under five minutes to play in regulation. The Panthers would snap their three game winning streak.

F/OT | Renfrew 4, Westport 3

The Renfrew Timberwolves do not give up when they are trailing. Renfrew would trail 2-0 early but would score twice to tie the game back in the first and would tie the game up once again in the third from Zach Martin who collected two goals in the game.

Artyom Shiman would complete a three-point night by scoring his 4th of the season and would snap his four game pointless streak. Owen Watson, Liam Graham and Anthony Ieradi all had goals for Westport in the loss. Dellaire also made 44 saves for his 4th win this season.

Winchester 4, Richmond 1

The Hawks were able to win their second straight game and winning their 8th game of the season. Eric Vitale collected his first two-goal game and extends his goal streak to three games with four goals during that time. Marco Haw and Kyle Kuehni also tallied 1 G / 1 A.

Noah Dioszeghy had the only goal for Richmond in the loss and extends their losing streak to four games. Cole Defazio would get his 5th win of the season by making 45 saves. Winchester outshot Richmond 53-45.
