Ottawa, ON – A busy Sunday night around the EOJHL saw Ottawa West return to form behind a shutout performance, Renfrew complete another thrilling overtime comeback, and both Embrun and Carleton Place skate away with key divisional wins.
Ottawa West 4, Richmond 0
The Ottawa West Golden Knights bounced back in dominant fashion with a 4-0 road win over Richmond. Thomas Dickey continued his incredible scoring streak, recording a hat trick to bring his season total to 19 goals, while Dylan Murdoch added one of his own. Dustin Riff was perfect in net, turning aside all 25 shots for the shutout. Ottawa West improves to 12-1-1-0, while Richmond drops to 6-7-0-0.
Embrun 3, Winchester 2
The Embrun Panthers mounted a comeback at home to edge Winchester 3-2. Isaac Bradley and Blake Thompson gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead, but Xavier Boulanger, Wyatt Leblanc, and Yanick Blanchard responded to lift the Panthers to victory. Sebastien Bourgeau stood tall with 31 saves for Embrun, who move to 3-8-3-2. Winchester falls to 5-9-0-0.
Carleton Place 6, Athens 1
A dominant effort from Matt Legge powered Carleton Place to a 6-1 win in Athens. Legge netted a hat trick to reach the 10-goal mark on the season, while Carter Rice, Noah Green, and Reid Hapke also scored. Sebastien Janisch made 41 saves for the win. Cohen Merkley had the lone goal for Athens. The Jr. Canadians improve to 5-10-0-0, while the Aeros fall to 3-9-4-0.
Renfrew 5, Glengarry 4 (OT)
For the second straight game, the Renfrew Timberwolves came from behind to win in overtime, this time taking down Glengarry 5-4. After falling behind 3-0 early, Renfrew stormed back with goals from Preston Charron (2), Liam Haggerty, Daxton Markwick, and Logan Fleury, who buried the overtime winner. Glengarry’s attack was led by Matheason Cameron (1G, 3A) and Matt Lavigne (4A). Renfrew climbs to 8-6-1-0, moving into first in the Richardson Division, while Glengarry sits at 9-4-2-0.
