Weekend Recap | Six Games

Ottawa, ON – We’re now down to the final three weeks of the season until playoffs begin. There were five games on Saturday which included two upset wins by Whitewater and Athens. The following day on Sunday, we saw the Royals snap their losing streak against Alexandria.

Saturday 

F | Westport 7, Richmond 2

Blake Kettyle would collect two goals for the second consecutive game. He finishes the week with four goals. Nicholson (1 G / 2 A) and Ieradi (3 A) bot had three-point nights. Barresti, Anson and Armstrong each hit the scoresheet with two assists.

The Rideaus have won two consecutive games. Ryan Mann and Shane Carroll each collect one goal while Brandt had two assists in the Royals loss.

F/OT | Whitewater 4, Casselman 3

The Vikings once again found a way to comeback to force OT. They’ve now came from the behind to salvage a point in three of their last four games. Jared Campitelli (2 G / 1 A) scores the OT winner to finish the night with three points. Dylan Kuehl and Quinn Vanhoof also tally 1 G / 1 A.

Yanick Dicaire and Joel Hunt each had one goal and one assist in the Vikings loss. Both teams combined for 99 penalty minutes and 81 PIM went to Casselman. The Kings have won three consecutive games by beating Carleton Place, Westport and now Casselman.

F | Athens 2, Perth 1

This game was a tight one which saw only four penalties in the game. Andrew McKenney and Matt Berry were the only goal scorers for the Aeros who have won two consecutive games. Emerson Hunt had himself a night – making 36 saves and his first assist in CCHL Tier 2.

The Blue Wings failed to convert on a 5-on-3 power play in the late portions of that game. Dylan Sharpley had the only goal for Perth.

F | Ottawa West 4, Char-Lan 3

Both teams combined for five goals in the first period. In the end, Ottawa West was able to play very defensive in the final few minutes of regulation to get themselves their fourth straight win. Justin Jamer scores twice to extend his point streak to four games. Mellios and Corrigan each tally two assists.

Brennan Markell had 1 G / 2 A and also extends his point streak to four games. Huntley and Ferland each register 1 G / 1 A in a multi-point night. The Rebels are now 2-1-1 in their last four games.

F | Carleton Place 4, Arnprior 1

Carleton Place U18 call up’s Tye Wetzel (1 G) and Sean Ireland (1 A) each tally their first point in their first CCHL2 game. Hill, Lightfoot and Hawkins each netted one goal for Carleton Place. It breaks the Canadians four game losing streak.

Jardine collects the only goal in the Packers loss. They’ve now lost five consecutive games – with three in regulation and two in extra time.

Sunday Afternoon

F | Richmond 3, Alexandria 2

Both teams combined for four goals in the first frame and would’t see the final goal until the final minutes in regulation. Ethan Vaslet scores with 20 seconds left to break the Royals five game losing streak. Ryan Mann collects two assists while Shane Carroll and Noah Dioszeghy each netted one goal.

Cedryk Miron and Reggy St-Surin all got one goal for Alexandria in their fourth consecutive loss. Miron has five goals and seven points in his first seven games since coming to Alexandria. Eric Tessier made 32 saves in the win while Brennan Nadeau makes 29 saves for Alexandria.
